Prof Mallesh assumes charge as Vice-Chancellor of Satavahana varsity
Mallesh said that his priority would be to secure the UGC 12B to the university as it was delayed due to non-availability of regular VC for the last six and half years.

Karimnagar: Prof Sankesala Mallesh assumed charge as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Satavahana University in Karimnagar town on Monday.
Incidentally, Mallesh is the third regular VC of Satavahana University since its formation in 2008. After State formation, the university was headed by only in-charge VCs viz B Janardhan Reddy and T Chiranjeevulu.
Speaking on the occasion, Mallesh said that his priority would be to secure the UGC 12B to the university as it was delayed due to non-availability of regular VC for the last six and half years.
He said he will also take up recruitment of vacant teaching and non-teaching positions, which were pending for long and mandatory for securing the UGC recognition.
Stating that the UGC recognition would help the university secure funds from national agencies and help in more research and project works, he said that he would take measures to strengthen the academics and ensure that students were job-ready after completion of their courses.
He said that they would take steps to introduce some job-oriented courses and help the student community. Reacting to a query on poor admissions into the government degree colleges when compared to the private degree colleges, he said that they would streamline the admission process and ensure that the students preferred to join the government sector colleges and learn from qualified faculty members.
A native of Hanumajipeta in Vemulawada mandal (now in Rajanna-Sircilla district) is from a poor dalit family. Mallesh studied high school in Government high school Sircilla. Later, he completed his Intermediate and Degree from Babu Jagjivanram (BJR) Government college in Lakdikapool in Hyderabad.
Later, he completed his MA (Philosophy) with distinction and M Phil and also Doctoral degree (JRF) from Osmania University Arts College. With the funding from DAAD, a German agency, he travelled to Germany to undertake research on Nietzsche. His work continues to demonstrate the importance of Nietzsche to the modern world in relation to Dr BR Ambedkar’s social and moral philosophy.
Starting the lecturer profession in 1992, he joined Arts College in the year 1994. Worked as Vice Principal of Nizam College from 2000 to 2003. He was head of the Philosophy department from 2010 to 2012. He became Principal of Arts college, OU from 2012 to 2014. He also worked as Vice Chairman of Telangana state higher education council.
