Hyderabad: A brainstorming workshop on improving the NIRF rankings of Telangana universities was held at Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University (SKLTGHU), Mulugu, on Monday.
The programme brought together representatives from 12 universities, including Vice Chancellors, Deans, and IQAC Directors, to enhance awareness, understanding, and preparedness for improving institutional performance in NIRF rankings.
TGCHE Chairman Prof V Balakista Reddy highlighted the significance of the NEP 2020 and stressed the need for strategic planning, quality data management, and clear benchmarks to improve performance.
Prof Reddy also called for enhancing student discipline, attendance, and institutional self-revenue generation. He advocated for cultivating Academic Social Responsibility (ASR), similar to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and emphasised that NIRF rankings reflect an institution’s academic strength, research productivity, student outcomes, and vision.
SKLTGHU Vice Chancellor Dr D Raji Reddy, Mahatma Gandhi University VC Prof Khaja Althaf Hussain, JNTU-Hyderabad VC Prof T Kishen Kumar Reddy, and Kakatiya University VC Prof Pratap Reddy raised various issues related to the topic.
