Medak: A couple from Puducherry adopted a 13-year-old girl from Medak district.
The girl was an inmate of the Bala Sadan, run by the Women and Child Welfare Department. The adoption was facilitated by the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA).
Speaking after handing over the adoption certificate to the couple in Medak on Wednesday, Collector Rahul Raj said couples who want to adopt children, must follow the guidelines of CARA.
Illegal adoption would push the couples into problems, he added. Raj also released pamphlets on a campaign against child marriage and violence against children.
