Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar has directed Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) authorities to issue notices to the owners of all dilapidated buildings in the city.

In a statement here on Thursday, he advised officials to be vigilant to prevent any loss of life or property with precautionary measures. The officials were told to identify the dilapidated buildings in different parts of the city and evacuate the occupants of such buildings to avoid loss of life in case of any untoward incident.

Similarly, the minister directed the officers and staff to be vigilant and take immediate remedial action by identifying the trees which could be uprooted in case of rains or gales.

He said there was a possibility of serious consequences if minor problems were neglected. The directions were issued in the wake of a recent incident at Brahmna Bazaar where two kids were crushed to death when an uprooted tree fell on them.

The minister who expressed shock over the death of two children at Brahmana Bazaar said appropriate action would be taken to prevent such unfortunate incidents in future.
