Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police Special Operations Team along with the Uppal police caught two siblings on charges of illegally selling Amphotericin B injections on Monday. Police seized five vials from their possession.
The arrested were identified as B Balu (38), a reporter from a vernacular news channel from Madhura Nagar in Yousufguda and B Yoganand (40), a marketing executive. Another suspect, Deepak Gupta (27), a software employee from Vijayawada, is absconding. The duo, along with Deepak, procured the injections from medical representatives known to them at Rs 350 a vial and sold them between Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.
On Monday, Deepak sent a customer in need of five vials. After negotiating, they agreed to sell each vial at Rs 30,000. Based on a tip-off, they were caught while selling the vials to the customer at the Uppal Metro Station.
