Rajkumar clinches junior chess title in Brilliant Trophy tourney

In Open category Mathiazhagan form Pondicherry and Vrashank Chouhan tied for first place with 10 points each from 12 rounds.

Hyderabad: Rajkumar from TSWREIS Chess Academy, Shaikpet emerged champion in the junior category with 10.5 points from 12 rounds at the 182nd Brilliant Trophy Chess tournament, on Monday.

M Vamshi, with 10 points, took the second place while Ashish Chaudhari stood third with 9.5 points.

In Open category Mathiazhagan form Pondicherry and Vrashank Chouhan tied for first place with 10 points each from 12 rounds. Mathiazhagan emerged champion in the tie-breaker . Parth Sehra got third place with 9 points.
