‘Rap scene in Hyderabad is getting better’
The rapper and actor talks about his new Telugu web series 'Game', his latest music video 'Echipaadd' and life
Rapper and actor Noel Sean was recently seen as a contestant on Bigg Boss 4 (Telugu). While on one hand he admits that he didn’t quite enjoy the experience of being on the reality show, he has been in the news again for making his digital debut in Hungama Play’s first Telugu original web series, Game.
A crime drama, Game follows six different people involved in a murder conspiracy that exposes a larger crime nexus. Noel plays the role of Rahul, a cab driver, who is also a criminal and uses dubious schemes to get ahead in life.
“I am fortunate to land this opportunity. Each character on the show is like a coin with two shades, so it’s quite interesting. I had gotten a call from director Ganga Sanampudi that he has an interesting script and a role for me, so I went ahead with it because I was impressed,” shares Noel, who is happy with the response he’s been receiving for his performance.
Although Noel shot for a few episodes for the show earlier, he’s currently on a break again due to the rise in Covid-19 cases. “I was supposed to shoot for another murder mystery film but it’s on hold right now and we hope to resume shoot by next month. I stay with my parents so I don’t want to put them at risk. Coming to music, I have a song ready for release,” says Noel, whose latest music video Echipaadd has been trending on YouTube.
The artiste feels that the rap scene in Hyderabad is good, and that the audience is constantly on the lookout for good content. “In the next five years, it’s going to pick up even more. Young rap artistes mustn’t wait for someone to come and help them. Ultimately, we must all believe in ourselves and our capabilities. Release your own singles and don’t expect producers to come sign you up in the initial stages itself,” advises Noel, whose main goal is to become an actor on the big screen.
Noel spends a lot of time writing and watching movies when he’s home. “We must always be ready to face negative situations in life. We should have great goals, but also be prepared for unfortunate circumstances,” he says.
