Siddipet: A member of Kotha Telangana Charitra Brundam (KTCB) has discovered ‘Veeragallu’ (sculptor of the warrior) dating back to the 16th Century at Potlapally village in Husnabad mandal. Speaking to ‘Telangana Today‘, founder of KTCB Sriramoju Haragopal said, in the sculpture, the Veeragallu was holding a unique boomerang-like weapon. He said they never saw a Veergallu holding such a weapon in the past.
The first floor of the sculpture also includes one woman and two men, with hunting dogs in their hands. Since the sculptures for Veergallu would be laid only after their death as memory stone, Haragopal said that they might have died in a war with rivals.
Since no written evidences were found on the sculpture and in the surrounding areas, the KTCB founder said that they could not conclude where and when exactly it occurred. Haragopal said that they have sent the pictures of the sculpture to experts seeking their opinion.
