Renowned Assamese poet Nilim Kumar to receive ‘Viswambhara’ National Award
Nilim Kumar, having published 24 volumes of poems, is a recipient of many accolades and awards, including the Kusumagraj National Award and Udayabharati National Award.

Hyderabad: The Viswambhara National Award, being presented every year by Smt. Suseela Narayana Reddy Trust in honour of the Poet and Jnanpith Awardee Dr. C. Narayana Reddy, this year will be conferred on the renowned Assamese Poet Nilim Kumar.
The award will be presented at the 94th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. C. Narayana Reddy in Ravindra Bharati on July 29. C. Ganga, chairperson and Dr. J. Chennaiah, general secretary of the Trust, on Sunday said that Nilim Kumar would be honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh, memento and citation.

Kumar’s works have been translated into many Indian and foreign languages including Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, English, Spanish, German, and French and have been incorporated into the syllabi in many universities.
