Researchers must move beyond conventional methods and ensure their work benefits people below the poverty line, said Prof R S Nirjar at a conference at Maulana Azad National Urdu University, where academicians discussed socially relevant and inclusive research practices.

Hyderabad: Researchers must think beyond conventional approaches and ensure their research benefits people living below the poverty line as well, emphasised Prof. R S Nirjar, former Chairman, AICTE, and former Vice-Chancellor, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, at the two-day international conference organised by the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Maulana Azad National Urdu University.
Prof. Stefan Wolfgang Pickl, Chair for Operations Research, Universität der Bundeswehr München, Germany, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU, Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, Prof. Abdul Wahid, Dean, School of Technology and Chairman of ICCIDSDT-2026, and others participated.
Inter Hostels Competitions:
Meanwhile, MANUU Inter-Hostel (Boys and Girls) Sports, Cultural and Literary Competitions 2026 were inaugurated at the Maulana Azad National Urdu University campus with the aim of promoting physical fitness, cultural harmony, creativity and literary excellence among students residing in various hostels of the university.
The inaugural ceremony was conducted with a 400 metre running race, and the other competitions, scheduled to continue over the coming weeks, include volleyball, kabaddi, kho kho, debates, poetry, essay writing, mehndi designing and other creative contests.
