Revanth Reddy asks Congress leaders to set aside personal agendas, calls for unity
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy stressed grassroots engagement, party discipline and preparation for upcoming polls, while warning of key challenges such as delimitation, women’s quota and electoral reforms
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has urged party leaders to set aside personal agendas and work for the Congress party’s cause.
With reports of differences among Ministers, MLAs and other leaders from various constituencies reaching Gandhi Bhavan, the Chief Minister called for coordination and unity. Every effort must be made to ensure that the Congress retains power after the next elections, he said here on Tuesday.
Addressing Ministers and TPCC committee members during the Political Affairs Committee meeting at Gandhi Bhavan, the Chief Minister emphasised that party leaders must work with discipline.
He said those appointed to various party committees should operate at the grassroots level, and assured them that leaders who sincerely work for the party would be rewarded with appropriate posts.
With local body elections fast approaching, the Chief Minister said he was ready to visit villages. He noted that the Congress government was implementing several welfare and development programmes across the State. The party leadership, he added, must focus on strengthening the cadre at the grassroots level and gear up for the Jubilee Hills bye-election.
He also reminded the leaders that several challenges lay ahead, including constituency delimitation, women’s reservations and the ‘One Nation, One Poll’ proposal. These issues, he said, must be faced with determination.
AICC incharge Meenakshi Natarajan, Cabinet Ministers and TPCC leaders attended the meeting.
