Hyderabad: Amid protests by unemployed youth for job notifications as promised by the Congress government, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy asked the youth to grab opportunities in the private sector besides focusing on government jobs.
To provide jobs for unemployed youth in the State, many opportunities had to be created in the private sector and not just in the government sector, as stressed by Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, he said here on Friday.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Suzen Medicare manufacturing unit here, the Chief Minister said the State government had so far offered 75,000 government jobs.
In future, though many thousands of jobs had to be offered, there were 30 lakh unemployed youth in Telangana. If the government had to provide job opportunities to all these youth, investments had to be secured in the private sector, he stressed.
“An IAS officer gets a salary of Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh, but in private corporate companies, youth are being offered annual packages of Rs 5 crore to Rs 10 crore as per media reports. Recently, an IIIT student secured an annual package of Rs 1.5 crore. One can calculate their monthly salary,” Revanth Reddy said.
Considering these factors, the unemployed youth should grab opportunities in the private sector along with focusing on government jobs, he stressed.
