Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy admitted that the State was currently facing a rainfall deficit due to the impact of El Nino, while the demand for electricity had also increased. He sought people’s support in addressing these challenges and urged the media to create awareness among people and farmers about the impact of El Nino.

“We are working with advance planning to ensure there are no disruptions to drinking water and electricity supply. We are also making efforts to generate more workdays under the VB-G RAM-G scheme,” he said at the Praja Palana Dinostavam celebrations here on Thursday.

The Chief Minister said the State government had launched the prestigious Musi Rejuvenation Project with the aim of providing clean air and water to the people of Hyderabad. Under the project, the government would revive the Musi river along a 55-kilometre stretch, he said.

Stressing that the government was rapidly expanding infrastructure essential for the State’s development, he said proposals for the 122.9-kilometre Metro Phase-II expansion, at a cost of Rs 38,595 crore, had already been submitted to the Central government.

“We have also secured approvals for the Adilabad and Mamnoor airports. Land acquisition for the new airports is in the process,” he said.

The government was developing the ‘Future City’ with specialised zones such as the Young India Skills University, Life Sciences Hub, EV Park, AI City, Health City and Education City. The master plan for Future City would be unveiled during the ‘Invest Telangana Global Summit-2026’, scheduled to be held in December, he said.

“TCS has come forward to build the country’s largest AI data centre in Future City, with an investment of Rs 70,000 crore. Amazon has already commenced the construction of a data centre with an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore,” Revanth Reddy said.
