Hyderabad: Even as the next hearing of Kancha Gachibowli lands case is listed in the Supreme Court for arguments, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday reiterated his government’s resolve to establish an IT park in the land in dispute after waging a legal battle, if required.

The Financial District’s development aided in generating 10 lakh jobs and the Knowledge Park next to Durgam Cheruvu helped in creation of five lakh jobs. Accordingly, plans were made to develop another IT park next to Gachibowli stadium across 400 acres, aiming to generate five lakh jobs and attract Rs.1 lakh crore investments.

However, the initiative faced temporary opposition, he said in his speech after opening the PJR Flyover for traffic here on Saturday.

“Despite a few individuals’ attempts to create hurdles, the government will not step back. The Kancha Gachibowli lands will be retained by fighting in the court and IT companies will be established,” Revanth Reddy asserted.

The Chief Minister also stressed that irrespective of the hurdles created by opposition parties, Hyderabad’s development will be sustained under the Telangana Rising 2047 initiative and the city would be transformed into a global city.

“Litigations are being filed in courts to stall projects. Should we spare those creating hurdles in development in the guise of politics?” he asked the gathering.

In the next 100 days, all the plans pertaining to development of the core urban region would be prepared. Citing the environmental issues faced by Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru, the Chief Minister stressed on the need to formulate new plans to avert such issues in Hyderabad.

Auto drivers should replace their diesel-operated vehicles with electric or CNG vehicles. The government would also extend some support to such drivers. There is no tax on owners purchasing electric vehicles in the State, he reminded.

After HYDRAA demolished the encroachments at N Convention, film actor Nagarjuna voluntarily handed over two acres to the government to protect the lake, the Chief Minister stated.

Reminding that the previous Congress government had sanctioned many institutions and projects, including Metro, he asked the union Minister and BJP State president G Kishan Reddy to list out Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s contribution to the State.

Telangana elected eight BJP MPs and eight MLAs and they should showcase one project that was sanctioned by the Prime Minister to Telangana or Hyderabad, he demanded.

Metro was approved for Bengaluru, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh and a bullet train was sanctioned to Gujarat but Telangana continues to be discriminated against. Metro expansion, Musi Riverfront and the Regional Ring Road (RRR) projects were not approved, he said.

“I will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the airport tomorrow and request him to sanction Metro, Musi and RRR projects,” he said, appealing that politics can take centre stage in the last year of the current term.
