Revanth Reddy’s district tours a violation of election code of conduct: BRS MLC
BRS MLC Tata Madhusudhan accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of violating the election code by using district tours and official events as campaign platforms. He alleged government failure on farmer issues, misuse of funds and SEC inaction, demanding a white paper on spending

Khammam: The district tours being undertaken by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to mark the completion of 24 months of the Congress government were a blatant violation of election code of conduct, alleged BRS district president MLC Tata Madhusudhan.
The Chief Minister was damaging the democratic spirit of local bodies by starting a bad tradition with his public meetings at district headquarters asking people to vote for his party candidates. But the Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) failed to take any action, he said.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Madhusudhan said the Congress party had turned the launching of Dr Manmohan Singh Earth Sciences University in Kothagudem into a platform for the party’s election campaign. It was nothing but an insult to a prominent economist like Manmohan Singh.
It was sad that the Congress ministers in the district mobilised students for the meeting and even as the Chief Minister attended the meeting, a majority of chairs were empty. The money spent on the Chief Minister’s tours was more than the funds allocated to the district’s development in the past 24 months, he noted.
Madhusudhan challenged the Congress leaders to release a white paper on the funds allocated to the district. Citing the recent suicide by a farmer, B Veeranna, in Nelakondapalli of the district, he said it was a murder committed by the government due to its failed policies.
The minimum support price announced by the CCI through the Centre for cotton was Rs 8,110 per quintal, while the farmers were not getting even Rs 6,000 in the market as the Congress government had failed to monitor the markets, the MLC said.
BRS Khammam city president Pagadala Nagaraju, leaders Karnati Krishna, Maqbool, K Nagabhushanam, Uppala Venkataramana, Bommera Ramamurthy, Pagadala Narender, Tajuddin, among others were present.
