Hyderabad: ETV Win’s latest short film series Katha Sudha is steadily building a space for heartfelt storytelling. As part of its weekly format, the platform released its latest episode, Amruthavalli, this Sunday. Like the rest of the episodes, this 34-minute film delivers an emotional narrative that is both meaningful and easy to relate to, making it a great watch for families.
The episode revolves around Sarath, a man caught between family expectations and personal feelings. Played by Yashwant Pendyala, Sarath is introduced as a soft-spoken, middle-aged man who agrees to a marriage proposal with Divya, though he doesn’t feel the spark. Things take a turn when he meets Amruthavalli, a charming and intelligent woman, only to find out she is a prostitute. The story explores whether Sarath chooses to follow society’s norms or listen to his heart.
Despite handling a sensitive topic, Amruthavalli remains respectful and clean in its presentation. There is no obscene content, making the episode suitable for all age groups. The story focuses more on emotions, values, and the idea of seeing people beyond labels.
Yashwant Pendyala fits well into the role of Sarath. His calm expressions and controlled performance make the character believable. Vismaya Sri as Amruthavalli impresses with her mature acting and screen presence. She brings charm and depth to the role, staying true to the title. Lekya Aduray, as Divya, gives a simple yet required performance that balances the narrative.
Director Sreekanth Devarakonda deserves credit for telling a clear and touching story within a short time. The episode flows smoothly without causing any confusion. The story leaves viewers with a strong message on love and acceptance.
While BV Harsha’s music could have added more impact in places, it still supports the tone of the film well. The rest of the cast and technical crew did their job effectively, adding to the overall experience.
With Katha Sudha, ETV Win not only introduces fresh stories every Sunday but also supports new talent under the guidance of veteran filmmakers like K Raghavendra Rao and Satish Vegesna. Episodes are accessible without a login, which makes it easier for viewers to enjoy content freely.
Amruthavalli proves that short films can be powerful and emotional even in a short runtime. As this series moves forward, it promises more touching stories that highlight life’s everyday moments with depth and simplicity.
