RPF recovers 25 lost mobile phones in June across South Central Railway zone
The RPF Cyber Cell of South Central Railway recovered 25 mobile phones in June 2025, acting on 140 complaints received via Rail Madad. By leveraging CEIR technology, they blocked 123 devices and traced 41, with 14 already returned to owners.
These complaints were received through the Rail Madad platform, the only channel through which such cases are taken up when no FIR has been filed by the complainant.
Acting swiftly, the RPF Cyber Cell blocked 123 devices via CEIR, detected traceability in 41 cases, and successfully recovered 25 mobile phones. Of these, 14 have already been handed back to their owners.
Armed with this tool, the RPF Cyber Cell has led recovery operations across SCR’s six divisions: Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded.
Additionally, RPF officials are actively engaging with six individuals currently in possession of traced devices. All have agreed to return the phones, thanks to structured follow-up and direct outreach led by the Cyber Cell team.
Sandeep Mathur, General Manager, SCR praised the RPF’s efforts, stating, “The RPF Cyber Cell has become a key force in restoring stolen or misplaced property through digital intelligence, timely action, and inter-agency collaboration. Their commitment continues to reinforce public trust in railway security and service.”
