Mancherial: Good news to nature aficionados! The much awaited jungle safari service has resumed at Kawal Tiger Reserve from Monday.
Jannaram Forest Divisional Officer Madhav Rao said that the service was restarted after a gap of nearly three months. The service was suspended owing to slushy paths caused by the monsoon till October 31. He stated that arrangements were made for smooth conduct of the service. A booking centre was inaugurated in Jannaram.
The officials said the service would help visitors and tourists to directly take a glimpse of sceneries and wild animals in the reserve by taking a safari ride which could be availed by dialing 94408 10103. Tourists and visitors need to pay Rs 2,000 for hiring the vehicle or Rs 350 per head.
The head of the administration of the division informed that safari vehicles would carry the tourists in the wild from 6 am to 10.30 am and 4 pm to 6 pm in a day. He stated that Bison Kunta, watch tower at Malyal and many other spots could be covered with the help of the ride. He advised nature lovers to utilize the opportunity.
15 kilometers ride
According to the foresters, the safari vehicle would travel in the forests for 15 kilometers. Tanks, streams, watch towers, machans and birding spots will be covered. The jungle safari will educate tourists about the flora and fauna of the reserve, besides entertaining them. The forest department has collaborated with the tourism department to reintroduce the service.
