Rajanna Sircilla: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Dansari Anasuya has said the Sammakka-Sarakka temple in Medaram will be reopened on January 19. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will reopen the temple which was renovated with modern facilities to serve the devotees for the next thousand years, she said.
The entire cabinet will be in Medaram since the cabinet meeting is going to be held there on January 18. After the cabinet meeting, Revanth Reddy will camp in Medaram in the night. Next day, he will reopen the Sammakka-Sarakka temple.
Seethakka along with family members had darshan of Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy in Vemulawada. Besides performing special poojas to the presiding deity, she offered Kodemokku, which is a famous ritual in the shrine. Later, speaking to media persons, she said that initially, they had planned to develop only Gaddelu (platforms) of Sammakka-Sarakka and approached the CM with proposals. However, they changed their plans following Revanth Reddy’s assurance to sanction adequate funds for the development of the entire temple.
The development of both the temples such as Sammakka-Sarakka and Vemulawada are being done simultaneously after the congress government came to power. Local MLA Adi Srinivas was striving hard for the reconstruction of Vemulawada shrine by getting sanction of funds from the government. Talking about Godavari pushkaralu, she informed that the government was planning to develop the river Godavari from Basara to Badrachalam. After completion of Sammakka-Sarakka jatara, the minister and MLA of Godavari belt will meet the CM to sort out pushkaram works.
