The Sammakka-Sarakka temple at Medaram will reopen on January 19 after renovation, Panchayat Raj Minister Dansari Anasuya said. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will reopen the shrine following a cabinet meeting at Medaram, while development works continue at major temples and riverfronts.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao issued an unconditional apology, clarifying that his remarks, made while criticizing the State government, were not intended to hurt women. "I apologize for any offense caused; my comments were never meant to demean or hurt my sisters," he stated.

The Chief Minister said the previous government had upgraded thandas into gram panchayats, but had not taken any measure for their development.

The Minister said the government had sanctioned Rs. 110 crore for the conduct of the Jatara and that efforts were being made to provide all kinds of facilities to the devotees.

On the whole 25 awards will be presented at the historic British Residency in Koti Women's College.

She praised the efforts of the Christian community in the fields of education and medicine.
