Sangareddy: 26 students fall ill after eating leftover biryani at Mandal Parishad Primary School

At least 26 students of a Mandal Parishad Primary School in Pedda Lodi village fell ill after eating biryani reportedly brought from a teacher’s residence. Fourteen students were admitted to Sadasivpet government hospital, while 12 were taken to Sangareddy.

Sangareddy: Several students of a Mandal Parishad Primary School in Pedda Lodi village were taken ill after they were served a biryani that was prepared at a teacher’s residence on Wednesday night. According to students and their parents, one of the school teachers had celebrated his birthday on Wednesday night at his residence. He reportedly brought the leftover Biryani to the school on Thursday morning which they served to students on Thursday morning.

Hours after eating the food, the students had suffered from vomiting and motions. At least 26 students, most of them aged below 10 years, were taken ill. While 14 of them were admitted to the government hospital in Sadasivapet, the remaining 12 were rushed to the government hospital in Sangareddy. The incident left the parents in a shock. MEO Bheem Singh, who arrived at the school following the incident, said that they were probing into the incident. He said that they would certainly take action against the culprits.
