Sangareddy: Sangareddy-based sculptor, Hothi Basvaraj, has won the second prize at the national level for his sculpture.

Basvaraj, a native of Nyalkal, will receive the award and Rs.51,000 as cash prize from Punjab Minister Kuldeep Singh on October 26 during the concluding ceremony of the 89th All India Exhibition of Arts.

Basvaraj won the second prize from The Indian Academy of Fine Arts for his artwork.

Basvaraj had carved a bull’s sculpture on a plow, indicating the decline of the use of bulls in agriculture in the times of mechanisation.
