Hyderabad: A two-Judge panel of the Telangana High Court comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice N Tukaramji on Tuesday reserved verdict on the question of whether it should interfere with the action of the banks in declaring Shree Saraiwwalaa Agrr Refineries Limited as a fraudulent account. The panel was dealing with a writ plea filed by Shree Saraiwwalaa Agrr Refineries Limited contending that the declaration of their account as fraudulent was contrary to the forensic audit.
Senior Counsel S Ravi pointed out how the decision of the bank was contrary to the facts in the matter. Earlier, the panel summoned the Chief General Manager of Union Bank of India and the officials of Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank to be present in court to explain the discrepancy. After hearing the summoned officials the panel reserved its verdict.
Permission for Agraha Nirahara Deeksha
Justice B Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court permitted Yuga Tulasi Foundation to hold the Agraha Nirahara Deeksha at Durga Maatha Temple, near Basheerbagh Circle. The Foundation had challenged the denial of police permission to hold deeksha at Sri Mallanna Swamy temple in Bahadurpura. The petitioner contended that there were many illegal slaughterhouses in and around Bahadurpura. Therefore they intended to hold the deeksha at Bahadurpura.
The Commissioner of Police rejected their request maintaining that the deeksha could lead to traffic congestion and also law and order problems as the area surrounding Mallanna Temple was communally sensitive. The judge permitted the petitioner to submit a fresh application to police for the conduct of deeksha with less than twenty participants. The court further directed the Commissioner of Police to consider the feasibility of permitting the petitioner to conduct deeksha taking the issues relating to traffic and law order problems into consideration at Durga Maatha Temple, near Basheerbagh Circle.
Revision petition dismissed
Justice K Laxman of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday dismissed a revision petition filed by three of the accused in the infamous honour killing case of Hemanth Kumar. The accused approached the High Court aggrieved by the orders of the trial court which dismissed the prayer of the accused to defer with the cross-examination of Avanthi, wife of the deceased Hemanth until chief examination of the other two eyewitnesses is completed. The contentions of the Petitioners is that prejudice will be caused to the accused if all the alleged eyewitnesses are not chiefly examined first. The Court observed that the deferring of cross examination is the discretion of the judge, dismissing the Revision case. The court further directed the Trial Court to conclude the trial within four months.
