Hyderabad: Family members of 34-year-old SBI Bank employee Manda Chaithanya, a resident of New Janapahad, Neredcherla, Nalgonda, who was declared brain dead, donated his organs to needy patients under the State-run Jeevandan initiative.

On June 12, while travelling on his two-wheeler, Chaithanya reportedly collided with a buffalo near Neredcherla in Suryapet district and sustained grievous injuries. He was shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for emergency treatment.

With no improvement in his health condition, doctors declared him brain dead on June 16. His wife, Manda Saraswathi, made the heartfelt decision to donate his kidneys, liver, heart and corneas to six patients in need.
