Schools celebrate Independence Day virtually

Gitanjali primary children came up with great craft ideas to celebrate 75th Independence Day. Students from classes I to VI brought out their imagination and creativity crafting wonderful crafts. They crafted flowers, badges, little flags and other articles using the tri-colours.
These skills are sure to foster their motor skills, nurture new ideas as well as develop their focus on any task. What better way to celebrate Independence than to encourage their self-expression, boost their sense of achievement, the school said
Delhi Public School, Nacharam
Delhi Public School, Nacharam marked the 75th Independence Day with much gaiety with alacrity. The event was set in motion on a virtual platform of Zoom with a large number of students, parents and teachers being in attendance. The event had an august gathering of chief guest Saroj Kant Mallick, DIG of Allahabad, chairman of DPS, Nacharam, Malka Komaraiah, principal Sunitha Rao, programme coordinators Gowri Venkatesh, I Sudha and Sireesha, parents and students.

The programme began with a soul-stirring prayer to the accompaniment of lighting of the lamp, which was followed by a welcome address by principal Sunitha Rao. School chairman Malka Komaraiah, delivered a speech that gave an impetus to the event. The chief guest Saroj Kant Mallick’s speech emanated true connotation of patriotism after the flag hoisting ceremony and National Anthem, the school said.
The school paid tribute to all the Olympic participants and winners from the country. A patriotic dance drama “Unnati Ki Path Par’’ coupled with music captured the interest of the viewers. Not to mention ‘’Azaadi Ki Yatra’’ which was a monologue by a student to acquaint the audience with historical places that marked the Indian Independence Movement.
An encapsulation titled ‘’Only in India’’ that accentuated the uniqueness embedded in the spirit of our country was also appreciated by the audience. Subsequently, the Music department of DPS, Nacharam sang a magnificent rendering of a patriotic medley called ‘’Mile-Sur-Mera Tumhara’’ followed by a vote of thanks.
TMRS (Girls), Balanagar
Telangana Minority Residential School (Girls), Balanagar organised Independence Day celebrations on its campus. Nagole Corporator C Aruna Surendra Yadav, who was the chief guest of the event, hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering. Ch Venkateswara deputy director-general, Head Mission 5 of Geological Survey of India was the guest of honour. He distributed prizes to the students who registered a cent per cent attendance.

Dr MK Maqdoom Mohiuddin, academic associate at Dr BR Ambedkar Open University and Sub-Editor Siasat Daily distributed prizes to winners of various competitions organised to mark the 75th Independence Day. Students who were part of the Toast Master programme conducted by MMF Foundation, USA to improve different skills in the English language were also given prizes on the occasion. Syed Khaja Hussaini, Mr Rafi and other academicians were present.
