Siddipet: Siddipet Collector P Venkatrami Reddy instructed the Koheda police to register a case against a person for felling seven well-grown trees in government land close to Rajiv Radhari near Shanigaram village in Koheda Mandal.
As the accused Sayyed Mohammad Badsha Moinuddin was running Mayuri Family Dhaba in a private land at Shankar Nagar, a hamlet of Shanigaram village. He felled seven trees on Sunday in a government land located adjacent to Rajiv Rahadari without obtaining permission from the officials.
A responsible person from locality shot the act on his mobile phone and sent it to Collector on WhatsApp seeking action against the person.
Following the directions of the Collector, a case was filed against Moinuddin. The Collector warned that they will send such persons to jail if anyone touched the trees without taking prior permission from the government machinery. He further said that they have also kept a strict watch to identify the tree fellers across the district.
Saying that the government is putting a lot of effort to improve the green cover in the State, Reddy observed that it is everyone responsibility to plant and protect the trees.
