Siddipet court convicts man in rape and murder case, awards 20-year jail term
A Siddipet court has sentenced Pingali Narendar Reddy to 20 years’ imprisonment and fined him Rs. 1.50 lakh for the rape and murder of a 21-year-old woman in 2012. The crime occurred in Koheda mandal, and the verdict was delivered by First Additional District and Sessions Judge Y. Jayaprasad.

Siddipet: A Siddipet court on Wednesday convicted a man in a rape and murder case, sentencing him to 20 years of imprisonment and imposing a fine of Rs. 1.50 lakh.
The accused, Pingali Narendar Reddy (45), a resident of Nawabpet in Chigurumamidi mandal of Karimnagar district, raped a 21-year-old woman at Pariveda in Koheda mandal of Siddipet district in December 2012. He later strangulated her to death.
Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, the police registered a case. After years of trial, the first additional district and sessions judge Y Jayaprasad pronounced the verdict, convicting Narendar Reddy.
Commissioner of Police Dr B Anuradha appreciated the efforts of the police officials and public prosecutors in securing the conviction, stating that the verdict brought justice to the victim’s family.
