An elusive tiger continues to stay in a reserve forest near villages in Siddipet district, causing fear among residents. Forest officials and NTCA personnel are monitoring its movement, while attempts to tranquilise and relocate the animal have so far failed.
An itinerant tiger has restricted its movement to a 5 km radius in Koheda mandal of Siddipet district, killing seven cattle in Ghanpur and Arepally villages. Forest officials have deployed drones, camera traps, and additional personnel to monitor its movements and prevent tiger-human conflict.
A Siddipet court has sentenced Pingali Narendar Reddy to 20 years’ imprisonment and fined him Rs. 1.50 lakh for the rape and murder of a 21-year-old woman in 2012. The crime occurred in Koheda mandal, and the verdict was delivered by First Additional District and Sessions Judge Y. Jayaprasad.
