Yadadri-Bhongir: The health condition of Telangana folk singer and former member of Jana Natya Mandali Jang Prahlad (55) who met with an accident on Thursday late night, remains critical. He suffered serious injuries in the road mishap at Hyderabad.

Prahlad is undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Nizam’s Institute Medical Sciences (NIMs) at Hyderabad where he was admitted after the road accident. He received injuries on his limbs after his motorcycle slid in an effort to avoid hitting stray dogs on the road, on Thursday late evening.


He was native of Hanumapuram of Bhongir mandal in Yadadri-Bhongir district. He was residing in Jagadgirigutta of Hyderabad along with his family. He also actively participated in Aata-Paata programmes which were conducted during Telangana agitation.

Prahlad’s brother Sadimalla Ramesh told Telangana Today that the doctors of NIMS informed him that there was a blood clot in the lungs of his brother due to the injuries received in the road mishap. It has resulted in a medical condition reducing his pulse rate and caused respiratory problem to Prahlad.

He said that Prahlad’s health condition was slowly improving as his pulse rate increased according to the doctors who were treating him.
