Singer Kalpana denies suicide attempt, says fell unconscious due to overdose of sleeping pills
The singer said that she fell unconscious after taking an overdose of sleeping pills due to her insomnia problem.
Hyderabad: Three days after hospitalisation for allegedly consuming ‘sleeping pills’ in a suicide bid, Tollywood singer Kalpana Raghavender clarifies that it was not a suicide attempt.
The singer said that she fell unconscious after taking an overdose of sleeping pills due to her insomnia problem. Sharing a video, the singer said, “There are several false news circulating in the media about me and my family. I want to clarify that I am happy and living with my husband and daughter.”

She further added, “At the age of 45 I am pursuing PhD and LLB and also constantly updating myself with the current music industry. Due to work pressure and stress I developed insomnia and was advised to take sleeping pills by my doctor.”
The singer said that she was hospitalised due to an overdose of sleeping pills. She further clarified that there are no differences between her and her husband. “I am able to learn and excel in my field because of my husband’s support,” she added.
The singer also thanked her fans and well wishers for their love and support during her tough times. She added that she will come back stronger to entertain her audience.
