Adilabad: The appearance of a snake on the premises of a primary school created a flutter among students and parents at the Indervelli mandal headquarters on Tuesday.
Parents said that students spotted a snake slithering inside the school premises, triggering panic. The children ran out of the school and raised an alarm. Locals alerted a snake catcher, who managed to capture the reptile and release it into a forest area, bringing relief to students and parents. The students breathed a sigh of relief after the reptile was caught.
Parents expressed concern that wild plants and weeds had grown around the school premises, attracting snakes and posing a threat to the lives of pupils. They urged officials of the education department to take immediate steps to ensure student safety by clearing the overgrowth. They said students were attending classes in constant fear due to the prevailing conditions.
