Suryapet: Annoyed over spurning of his amorous advances, a youngster attacked a woman in Rajiv Nagar colony in Nereducherla mandal on Thursday. The youth identified as Bala Saidulu (24) was reportedly harassing the young woman in the name of love and she was resisting his advances, police said. Saidulu got enraged when the woman’s marriage was fixed with another person by her parents. He reportedly approached her and attacked her with a knife on her throat, when she went to wash clothes at a canal.

Hearing the shouting of the girl for help, the locals came to her rescue. On seeing them, he fled. The injured Kalyani has been shifted to the area hospital of Miryalaguda for treatment. Based on the complaint lodged by parents of the girl, Nereducherla police filed a case and took up investigation.
