Hyderabad: The city woke up to unusual and oppressive weather conditions on Monday. While the sun had barely risen, the air already felt ‘heavy’ and humid, a departure from the city’s typical climate for this time of the year.
While March is traditionally known for its dry heat, the city is currently experiencing a surge in humidity in the early hours. According to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, the morning humidity hit 76 percent by 8.30 am on Monday, as cooler mornings tend to have more relative humidity.
Moreover, based on private weather mobile applications, between 5 am and 8 am, Hyderabad on Monday witnessed a relative humidity of nearly 74 percent, which is quite high and a cause of sweaty, uneasy early morning conditions experienced by the general public.
The IMD Hyderabad, however, has forecast that by Monday evening the humidity will be around 41 percent, as temperatures are projected to rise up to 36 degree Celsius.
Interestingly, a similar weather pattern of excessive relative humidity ranging between 74 percent and 76 percent in the early hours of the day followed by a drop in humidity levels ranging between 31 percent and 33 percent, is expected to continue till Sunday, March 15, according to local weather forecast of IMD Hyderabad.
