Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Wednesday thanked Union Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar for appreciating Telangana State which emerged as a leading State in online auditing of local bodies and advising other States to emulate the success. Speaking on the occasion, Dayakar Rao gave the credit to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao whose vision had helped the State to leap frog into top States in the country by successfully implementing the online auditing of local bodies. He stated that the State government was implementing several welfare and development measures like Palle Pragathi, Haritha Haram, Rythu Bandhu and paddy procurement among others as well as the State emerged as the top performer in implementing the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).
“The State has several awards and praises for the performance of Panchayat Raj department. However, we request the Centre to allocate more funds for development of villages in the State,” he appealed. He also appreciated the efforts of the departmental staff including Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania and commissioner Raghunandan Rao, online auditing staff, sarpanches and other officials in this regard.
