Rightly said by Abraham Lincoln “The ballot is stronger than the bullet.” Voting is the most precious right of every citizen. Voting is the expression of our commitment to ourselves, one another, this country and this world. With this note, students of class V of DPS Mahendra Hills celebrated National Voters Day on January 25 by organising a special assembly in which students performed creatively to make the upcoming generation understand the importance of voting, especially among the newly eligible voters of the country.

Students also took a pledge to vote once eligible as the citizens of India and to uphold the democratic traditions of the country. Various slogans were displayed by the students to provide a sense of freedom to express an opinion in major decision making for the benefit of the country in a democratic nation.

Tourism Day celebrated

Students also celebrated National Tourism Day on January 25 and made an alluring contribution to the assembly. This day is observed to explain the essential role of tourism in the growth of the country. This year, the theme of National Tourism Day is ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ as India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world. Students took us around to make us aware of the multicultural experiences and a rich heritage accompanied by beautiful attractions through a video and showed how the country is among the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
