Sudhakar Komakula set to strike a chord with audiences

Hyderabad: Known for his witty and energetic character as Telangana native Nagaraj in Sekhar Kammula directorial ‘Life Is Beautiful’, Sudhakar Komakula has been appearing before audiences on and off with character roles. The actor recently appeared as a cop in Ravi Teja-starrer ‘Krack’. He has another bigger character in Kartikeya-starrer ‘Raja Vikramarka’ as he plays the role of an ACP in the spy thriller. “We initially thought that ‘Raja Vikramarka’ could be wrapped up in four months but it got extended to two years due to Covid-19,” he says.
Sudhakar got much praise for his character as Nagaraj in ‘Life Is Beautiful’. But he never thought he could be a hero material. “The image of me as a hero was not in my mind actually. But I also felt I should do characters that excite me, apart from trying lead roles. However, nothing better came my way. I am hopeful that audiences like my look and performance in ‘Raja Vikramarka’. At the same time, viewers like to watch combination scenes. New-age audiences and actors like to experiment. Kartikeya has a negative role in the Tamil flick ‘Valimai’. While doing lead roles, I also like to do character roles,” he shares.
During the lockdown, Sudhakar and his wife Harika Sandepogu did a cover song ‘Induvadana’ from Chiranjeevi’s classic hit ‘Challenge’. “It was appreciated by everyone. And the special appreciation note from Chiranjeevi garu himself was a great feeling to us. It was entirely shot in the USA. My wife Harika has been a classical dancer since childhood. But she never took it seriously to pursue it as a profession. She just agreed to do a song. Later, Megastar garu met us when we came to Hyderabad. It was a special memory in our career.”
