After delivering the heart-wrenching drama of ‘Colour Photo’, actor Suhas has something interesting in store for his audiences. Movies like ‘Majili’, ‘Agent Sai Srinivas Athrey’ and ‘Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya’ made him more versatile as a character artiste. Suhas has carved a special place on the Telugu silver screen with his own style. Now, he has been prodding on something new, a subject which he feels has the potential to break the routine story narratives.
Touted to be a comic caper, the upcoming movie is titled ‘Writer Padmabhushan’. Suhas plays the role of Padmabhushan in the movie. “The story that director Shanmukha Prashanth had narrated to me was a fun ride. Surely, it leaves everyone in splits. With a good background score, it’s going to be even better. I have known the director for many years. The story is exciting. Luckily, the producers have made the film without compromising on budget. Asish Vidyarthi garu, Rohini garu, Goparaju Ramana garu, and others have given superb performances,” says the ‘Colour Photo’ actor.
Sharing his thoughts on his last outing ‘Colour Photo’, Suhas admits that he was apprehensive while doing the project because it had him as the protagonist. “It wasn’t easy to handle the pressure, but I enjoyed the process of doing the movie. I always wanted to become an actor, a character artiste. Luckily, ‘Colour Photo’ came my way and I became the lead actor. I’ve been playing character roles in some good movies besides doing lead roles. A lot of directors who made short films with me, have been continuing the journey as fellow travellers. I am in touch with the directors of my previous feature films as well. Some of them constantly appreciate me. Every director I have worked with has been supportive. Among actors, Nani garu and a few others advised me to go for the right kind of subjects,” he shares.
Suhas says’ ‘Writer Padmabhushan” is not a satirical comedy. It’s a story of a middle-class family in Vijayawada. I am playing the role of the writer Padmabhushan. It’s not just about his writing career. It’s also about his equations with his family members, friends and relatives. Since it’s being bankrolled by Chai Bisket, this movie is all the more special to me.” he adds. ‘Writer Padmabhushan’ will be hitting screens in October.
