Sukhender Reddy elected unanimously as Council Chairman for second term
Hyderabad: Gutha Sukhender Reddy has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Telangana State Legislative Council for second term here on Monday. With only one nomination filed for the post, the officials announced the unanimous election of Sukhender Reddy.
Sukhender Reddy assumed the Chair in the presence of Ministers KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Mohd Mahmood Ali, G Jagadish Reddy, Satyavathi Rathod, V Srinivas Goud, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, A Indrakaran Reddy, Ch Malla Reddy, MLC K Kavitha, and others. They congratulated him by presenting him with flower bouquets as the Council members thumped the tables to mark their support.
He took charge as the Council Chairman for the first time on September 11 of 2019. However, his term as the Council member expired in June last year. He as reelected as MLC on November last year and took charge as the Council Chairman for second term.
In his absence, TRS MLC V Bhoopal Reddy and AIMIM floor leader Syed Aminul Hasan Jafri served as the Protem Chairmen.
