Suryapet: Anganwadi teachers and helpers on Thursday performed ksheerabhisekham to the portrait of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Telangana Thalli statue in Suryapet for hiking their honorarium.
More than 50 anganwadi teachers and helpers participated in the programme and raised slogans hailing the Chief Minister. K Jyothi, an anganwadi teacher, said anganwadi centres had undergone a sea-change in the last seven years due to the measures taken by the State government. Anganwadi centres have turned into multi-facility centres for children and lactating mothers, she said, adding that the state government had provided learning kits and toys to all anganwadi centres in the State.
Pointing out that State government hiked honorariums of anganwadi teachers and workers by 30 per cent, Jyothi said with this, the honorarium of anganwadi teachers had increased to Rs.13,650 from Rs. 10,500 and in the case of anganwadi helpers, it had increased to Rs. 7,800 from Rs.6,000.
