Vijayashanthi recalled that in 2007, the first Telangana Talli statue was unveiled by the Talli Telangana Party, floated by her. In a post on 'X,' she said that BS Ramulu had designed Telangana Talli as the mother of the poor, weak, and marginalised communities.
Addressing a round table conference organized by the Telangana Jagruthi at Press Club with intellectuals, she observed that the statue of Telangana Thalli was the symbol of legacy and cultural pride that the Telangana movement instilled in its people
According to his own admission, Revanth Reddy directed the police to arrest a senior most official of the L&T, that operates the Hyderabad Metro Rail, after the latter went on record stating that the Congress government's decision to provide free travel for women in RTC buses in Telangana had impacted the occupancy of the Metro Rail leading to losses to the company.
BRS MLC K Kavitha led the charge in a demonstration at Telangana Bhavan, where she, along with GHMC corporators and local leaders, strongly opposed the redesign. In a symbolic act of defiance of the government orders, she offered milk to the original Telangana Thalli statue installed by the BRS at Telangana Bhavan
"I appeal to BRS cadres to perform Palabhishekam and Panchamrita Abhishekam to cleanse statues of Telangana Thalli existing across the State on Tuesday, as reparation for the sin committed by the Congress and to seek her forgiveness. I also request the party workers and Telangana citizens to change their social media profile pictures to images of the original Telangana Thalli in solidarity," he appealed.
Referring to the historical "Telangana Thalli" designed during the Telangana movement, he criticised the current administration for its lack of understanding and respect for the State’s cultural and historical essence.
He warned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy against making any changes in the design, which holds sentimental and historic value for the people of Telangana.
Reiterating his party's commitment to preserving the legacy of the statehood movement while addressing the challenges faced by the State today, he appealed to the party cadres to participate in large numbers and make the Deeksha Divas a massive success
During the inspection, the Chief Minister discussed a few aspects, including the site for installing the statue, required area and designs, besides plans with the officials
