Suryapet: Chandrapatnam, considered as the marriage of lord Sri Lingamanthula Swamy with Chowdamma, was performed by Yadav priests at Sri Lingamathula Swamy temple on Tuesday as part of Durajpally Jatara in Suryapet district.
The rush of devotees to the temple continued for the third consecutive day of the biennial Jatara given the belief that witnessing the Chandrapatnam ritual would do good for them.
Speaking to the media, District Collector T Vijay Krishna Reddy said seven medical camps were set up at select points of the Jatara where medical services were provided to 3,500 devotees. Covid tests were conducted on 84 persons at Jatara and all of them tested negative.
