Mancherial: A woman hacked her husband to death for harassing her and maintaining an illicit relationship with another woman at Sai Kunta here on Saturday. A case was booked against her and their son for allegedly involving in the crime.

Mancherial Inspector ML Mutthilingaiah and Sub-Inspector N Devaiah said that the deceased was Koppula Nagaraju, (44), a resident of Sai Kunta and an eggs trader. The accused was Koppula Swarupa, a homemaker.

Swarupa killed her husband using a knife as she was unable to bear his harassment and was disheartened over his illegal affair with one Nandini. Allegedly with help from her son, she reportedly killed Nagaraju when he was asleep, and surrendered before police. She is also learnt to have confessed to committing the crime.

Sources said that Nagaraju was running two outlets for selling eggs and he gave one of the two outlets to Nandini. Ever since, Nagaraju and Swarupa have been quarreling with each other for quite a long time. A case was registered against him for harassing her in the past.

ACP Akhil Mahajan and Inspector Muttilingiah visited the scene of offence and inquired into the incident.

Sammakka, sister of Nagaraju lodged a complaint with police. A case was registered against Swarupa and her son Vivekananda under the Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Investigation has been taken up.
