Hyderabad: Aman Balgu of Income Tax Department and Garlapati Pranitha of Hanuman Vyayama Shala emerged champions in men’s and women’s categories respectively in the “Late Sri Loknath Samal 8th Telangana Stage Inter-district and State Table Tennis Championship” conducted by Somnath Ghosh MLR-UTT Academy in Hyderabad.
In the super league matches conducted on Thursday, Aman lost only one match and got a walkover from B.Varun Shanker, who had to catch a flight to go to Muscat to represent India in an international tournament. G.Pranitha lost only one of the eight matches in the super league to become state champion in women’s section.
The top four players in the super league are as follows:
Men’s: Aman Balgu (IT), Mohammed Ali (LBS), Zubair Farooqui (LBS), G.Arvind Kumar (AVSC)
Women’s: G.Pranitha (HVS), Monica (GSM), Nikhat Banu (GSM), Varuni Jaiswal (GSM).
The Under 19 boys and girls events will commence from Friday morning, according to the organizing committee secretary A.Amarnath Reddy.
