Former BRS MP Joginipally Santosh Kumar presented the "Green India Challenge" at a Commonwealth Secretariat meeting in London, highlighting India’s citizen-driven ecological restoration efforts. The initiative has planted 196 million trees, installed over 22,000 rainwater harvesting systems, and revived thousands of water bodies.

President Droupadi Murmu underscored the urgent need for a spiritual connection with nature while receiving Vriksha Vedam 2.0 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Former Rajya Sabha MP Joginipally Santosh marked World Environment Day by planting three saplings at Erravalli farmhouse. He emphasized environmental responsibility and nominated BRS leader KT Rama Rao, actor Chiranjeevi, and environmentalist Jadav Payeng to continue the Green India Challenge.

Despite the saplings being lost due to road expansion, Kumar called for replanting efforts to revive Ramaiah’s vision. He also proposed renaming the annual Vanamahotsavam as "Ramaiah Vanamahotsavam" in honor of his enduring legacy.
