The All India Tiger Estimation 2026 survey has been completed in Telangana, recording 994 pieces of evidence of tigers and other carnivores. Conducted between January 19 and 25 across 32 districts, the survey also documented 552 signs of mega herbivores.
The six-day All India Tiger Estimation-2026 concluded across the erstwhile Adilabad district, with officials recording pugmarks of two tigers. The survey was conducted in Kawal Tiger Reserve with the support of forest staffers and volunteers from various States
The Telangana Forest Department has called on citizens, students, NGOs, and wildlife lovers to join the All-India Tiger Estimation 2026, a massive wildlife survey led by WII and NTCA. Registrations are open until November 22, with participants required to commit for seven days and trek up to 12 km daily.
