Bhogapuram Airport near Visakhapatnam took a major step towards commercial operations with a successful validation flight by Air India. The GMR-led project is over 90% complete and is targeted to begin operations by June.
According to the official schedule shared by the state government, the chief minister is expected to inspect the Polavaram left main canal at Darlapudi in Anakapalli district by noon.
The Bhogapuram airport, which will be developed by the GMR company in a public-private partnership on an area of 2,203 acres around 40 km northeast of Visakhapatnam
State Minister for Information Technology, Industries, and Infrastructure Gudivada Amarnath visited the airport land and said that the airport would be constructed in an area of 2,200 acres.
