The CBSE has announced that Class 10 and 12 board exams will commence from February 17, 2026. For the first time, Class 10 exams will be held in two phases, with the second optional session in May for students aiming to improve their scores. The best score will be retained if a student appears in both. Class 12 exams will conclude by April 9.
The apex court had on Thursday told Andhra Pradesh government that it was not convinced of the precautionary measures suggested by the state for holding Class 12 board exams.
Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' said a decision on when the exams will be conducted will be taken later after due consultations and assessment of the situation.
The Education Minister has already clarified that there will be no change in the syllabus for medical entrance exam NEET or engineering entrance exam JEE-Main next year.
