Scores of citizens have queued up at the polling stations to cast their ballots before they get along with their day. While some struggled to locate their polling centers, political party agents outside the 100 meter line and officers handling the electoral roll have been assisting voters.

By-polls were conducted in Nagarjuna Sagar constituency following the demise of TRS MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah.

The Minister said the people of the constituency do not believe the false claims of Congress leaders during their elections campaign.

JMM candidate Basant Soren, who is the younger brother of CM Hemant Soren, defeated his nearest BJP rival Lois Marandi, a former minister, by 6,842 votes

Voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm, except in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Nagaland where the timings are different.

Chief Spokesperson K. Krishna Saagar Rao in a statement here on Tuesday, said that police are harassing party candidate Raghunandan Rao by not allowing him to have a level playing field in the by-election.
