According to the police, the woman was alighting from a moving train when her dress got caught in the zipper of another commuter's bag. As the train picked up speed, the woman lost her balance and was dragged along the platform, even as she tried to free herself to avoid getting pulled under the wheels
The first passenger service on the Sydney Metro City Line departed from Sydenham station in Sydney's inner western suburbs at 4:54 a.m. on Monday. The train traveled through the 15.5 km tunnel under the central business district and Sydney Harbour, arriving at Chatswood on the city's north shore at 5:16 a.m.
RTC officials said based on the outcome of the survey, appropriate decisions will be taken on improving the current routes, increasing frequency of services and issues like better accessibility will be addressed.
While, commuters complained that services were disrupted for a considerable time, Metro officials claimed the snags were fixed and services were resumed immediately
The top emphasised that the occupation of public places or roads by demonstrators, which leads to inconvenience to a large number of people and violate their rights, is not permissible under the law.
