A Delhi court discharged Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia in the excise policy corruption case, refusing to take cognisance of the CBI chargesheet. Kejriwal termed the case the “biggest political conspiracy” in Independent India.

The Supreme Court questioned the central agencies Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over the fairness of their probe, asking if they were free to "pick and choose" an accused.
BRS leader B Vinod Kumar said that the delay in grant of bail owed to the fact that leaders from non-BJP parties were targeted. He suggested that they were imprisoned because of their political affiliations.
